“Liberation Sunday” is inspired by a group of people I observed strolling along the shoreline of Grand Cayman Island. They were heading to a calm spot where some were going to be baptized. I experience a lot of joy from painting various subjects over colorful, thick, textured acrylic paint and letting the underpainting peep through. In some areas I leave the underpainting completely exposed, such as the design in the dress worn by the lady wearing a white hat.
